Porch Swing Glow Up

Porch Swing Glow Up Shopping List:

The front porch swing didn’t become an issue in my eyes until we painted the house. Once the house was blue and brown, I decided that a black swing just didn’t quite cut it anymore!

However, I didn’t quite know what color to paint it. But, as I tried different things, it became evident that I would need to paint it the same color as the trim of our house. Once I started testing out the swing, I realize that that it had a couple of coats of paint already and I thought maybe I would need to remove those in order to preserve the integrity of the wood.

So, I used a paint stripper and completely stripped the swing prior to painting it. It took weeks to strip and paint, but I feel confident that the swing will now last many more years.

I had no choice but to dress the swing up for fall! I’ve linked all my purchases above so maybe it can inspire a few of you to give an old piece of furniture a second or even THIRD chance. :)

Enjoy, friends!

How it started!!!

How it’s going!
