One Happy Centerpiece
I hosted the October Wine & Witches Party last night at our house for our neighborhood mom’s group. Each month there is a different fun outing for everyone to get together & mingle. It’s a fabulous concept and a great way to meet new people or see old friends. We had a lovely night and I thoroughly enjoyed having an excuse this month to decorate the house autumn style!
Everything was, do we really need miniature skeletons?
And the answer became, but - the party! So, we got the mini skeletons and I had an absolute blast doing so.
Our dining room is the type of space I could spend hours in. The moodiness is such that I feel completely inspired every time I sit down in it. My entire life I’ve wanted, no NEEDED, a formal dining room and I’ve never had one until this house. I wanted to create a fall centerpiece that compliments the mural on the walls which is a forest.
My chosen theme was orange & I just went for it. I wanted to highlight that bright, happy color with green tones. I feel like this color combo doesn’t get the love and appreciation it so totally deserves?!?
I ordered several faux pumpkins, cotton pieces, faux magnolia leaves, and faux boxwood wreaths & pinecones. The bust planters are part of our dining table year round & something I decorate with for each season. Same with the boxwood wreaths & magnolia leaves. It can be a toss up ordering things online but all of these have been wonderful purchases.
I was heavily influenced by the concept of messy stacking & the combining of goods that I’ve seen so often in porchscaping during the fall season. It’s an effortless look that, let’s be honest - REQUIRES A TON OF EFFORT. :) When it’s done right though, the look is pure magic.
I am so very pleased by how this turned out. The styling here works for early fall, halloween, and thanksgiving. Plus, I can use the supplies again next year. Yet another reason to love faux pumpkins - enjoy!
I’ve linked everything I used here on this shopping list:
